BMitch and Finlay opened Wednesday's show by giving their instant reactions to the Capitals and Wizards' pending move to Alexandria, where they will open a new arena in 2028, and neither host saw it as a sign of catastrophe for the franchises.
In fact, BMitch didn't find it to be too consequential given the close proximity of Alexandria and Capital One Arena.
"I'm still hesitant on it," BMitch said. "But if they're in D.C. or Virginia, I'm not affected either way."
JP sees the benefits to the move, but can't help but mourn the loss of two pro teams from the downtown area.
"I understand completely why Monumental would do this deal," JP said. "From a real estate play to a stadium play and looking towards the future play…and I'm not mad. I think there are a lot of people that our mad.
"It makes me sad, man…it just feels like this is such a seismic change…it's not gonna be the same.
"Alexandria is right there. To me, it's a big deal because you are going to gut downtown Washington, and there's no way around that."
