The Caps have dropped two in a row and lost game one of their western swing Monday, but they have a chance to stem the tide tonight when they battle the Kings in LA (with coverage beginning at 10:15 on 106.7 The Fan) – and they’ll do it without TJ Oshie, who is not on the trip after getting hurt in their final home game against Edmonton on Black Friday and placed on injured reserve.
There was nopenalty on the Oilers’ Mattias Ekholm for what many thought was a head-hunting shot, but Coach Spencer Carbery tried to explain it as he was up WAY early out in La-La Land to join the Junkies for his weekly Wednesday spot.
“TJ’s trying to stay onsides, and all of a sudden, Ekholm comes out of nowhere and makes contact, and you don’t know the intention in that situation – is it incidental contact with a really big human being, or is there a little extra force?” Carbery said. “That’s where the gray area is, and they saw it with just incidental contact. Our guys are a little unhappy with that.”
Take a listen to Coach Carbs’ entire segment, which includes thoughts on Connor McMichael’s growth, Martin Fehervery’s return, the disappointing loss to the lowly Sharks, and more!
