There are quite a few athletes over the years who have transcended sports into pop culture, so much so they are must-watch TV – think Tiger in his prime on a Major Sunday, McGwire and Sosa and Bonds as they chased home run records, MJ and LBJ winning umpteen titles on the hardwood.
Right now, though, who fits into that category of transcending from star to superstar to must-watch? Shohei Ohtani, who is going to pitch against the Nationals this week and give many DC fans a first look at him, is probably on a lot of lists, if not at the top of most of them, and Patrick Mahomes is certainly at the top of the heap in the NFL.
Grant & Danny discussed this very topic on Tuesday and gave their own lists, and while we won’t spoil it for you, we will say that Patrick Corbin is certainly not on either!
