TCU WR Jalen Reagor was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles with the 21st pick in the NFL Draft.

The 21-year-old son of former Texas Tech and NFL defensive lineman, Montae Reagor, was the fourth wide receiver off the board. Here’s what you need to know about Reagor:

Measurables: 5’11”/206

School: TCU

2019 Stats: 43 receptions, 611 yards, 5 TD

Accolades: 2019 second-team All-Big 12 WR and return specialist; 2018 second-team All-Big 12; 2018 TCU MVP; 2017 Big 12 Co-Offensive Freshman of the Year

Strengths:

• Explosive speed and great athleticism.
• Strong hands and good vertical allows him to make difficult, contested catches and makes up for size.
• Versatility: Can serve as a deep threat, excel in short routes and be used in gadget plays; is a threat to score anywhere on the field.

Weaknesses:

• Drops can be a problem
• Struggles in press coverage and with physical corners
• Hindered by poor QB play

Insider Thoughts:

"Reagor is a home-run hitter than is also strong enough to play on the outside. Reagor isn’t as quick as Hamler, but he does an excellent job navigating traffic after the catch, and can be extremely dangerous on screen plays or when he gets the ball in space. It is easy to see him being effective in the Eagles offense with a head coach like Doug Pederson calling the plays. I don’t see “No. 1” receiver potential in Reagor, but I do think he can be a very nice piece for any offense." - Eliot Shorr-Parks, 94.1 WIP

"Jalen Reagor didn't have good quarterback play this year, still put up good numbers. Had a drop here and there, but he's been consistent overall and that punt return ... he took one for a touchdown, averaged 20.8 yards per return. He is a late first- early-second-round pick I believe will be a good player in the NFL." - Mel Kiper Jr., ESPN

Highlights:

Player Comparison: Curtis Samuel/Randall Cobb

Like Samuel, Reagor enters the NFL as a speedy, versatile receiver who can be used in other roles (running back, special teams returner) as well. Reagor, however, may even be a little more refined of a wide receiver than Samuel, drawing a ceiling closer to a Randall Cobb-type player, who is around the same size and served as a big play receiver because of his quickness.
