The San Francisco 49ers pulled out the surprise of the first five picks of the NFL Draft on Thursday, selecting North Dakota State quarterback Trey Lance third overall in the first round of the NFL Draft.
As a reminder, the 49ers swapped their 2021 first-round pick, traded two future first-round picks in 2022 and 2023 and a third-round compensatory pick in 2022 to the Dolphins for the right to move up to No. 3.
It's clear now San Francisco was madly in love with Lance.
And as a further reminder, Sports Junkies host Eric Bickel determined — in his four-minute commercial break film study of Lance in early March — that anyone who tells you they're high on Lance is "stupid."
"If anybody tells you they're high on Trey Lance, they're stupid," Bickel said.
Welp, guess Kyle Shanahan is a big stupid.
