BMitch & Finlay love that the Commanders and Metro are teaming up for later service Thursday

Good news for folks headed to FedEx via public transportation Thursday night: the Commanders have reached a deal with the Metro to keep trains running later into the night for fans headed out of Landover following the game!

The news came via Commanders press release on Tuesday evening, and it’s just another way Josh Harris and company are trying to improve the fan experience and alleviate the craziness that is entering and exiting the FedEx premises.

Even better: the team and the service have agreed to a five-year joint promotional agreement that will invest in promoting Metro as ‘the optimal travel option to and from games.’

“You mean to tell me Metro and the Commanders are working together?” Brian Mitchell said, with a smile on his face that only we could see in the studio. “Can you believe that two people can get together and do something that benefits their fans?”

“There are probably people who have wanted to do this for a while, and were handcuffed,” JP Finlay responded. “Now the handcuffs are off, and it tells me what we all knew, that Dan Snyder in his infinite wisdom fought like hell to keep people from walking up to the stadium, he wanted people to drive and pay for parking at his stadium.”

It also tells JP one other thing:

“If anyone thinks anything (regarding a new stadium) is going to happen fast? This is a five-year deal, they’re going to be there awhile,” JP said.

“Hey, there’s still plenty of room over there for a new building,” was Brian’s response, and even JP agreed there was plenty of land and a desire from Maryland’s governor to keep it in house…
