BMitch & Finlay ask: What is the lowest on-field moment of the Daniel Snyder era?

On Monday, Grant & Danny asked 106.7 The Fan listeners to recall the moment they knew Daniel Snyder was going to be a bad owner, and what if any particular moment/incident/season turned them off as a Commanders fan.

Well, on Tuesday, BMitch & Finlay brought it a little further, asking what fans thought were the worst moments of the Snyder era when it came to on-field issues. It seemed like every time Snyder or the Commanders hit rock bottom, they still had another nadir to find, so there was a lot to choose from.

“To me, it was Dec. 8, 2013, Chiefs vs. Redskins, they were down 31-0 in the first half, the weather was awful, and the stadium was empty,” JP Finlay said. “It was awful. They announced the attendance at 56,000 – good luck, and that was when they were still lying about attendance, so you know that 56 was 22,000 at kickoff. The end of an absolutely rotten season.”

“They let JP count that day, that’s why they were at 56,000,” Brian Mitchell laughed.

Producer Landfill weighed in on the subject, remembering an embarrassing national TV game.

“I remember Monday Night Football the year Jay Gruden got fired when the Bears completely embarrassed them,” Landfill said. “They were inducting London Fletcher into the Ring of Fame and spelled his name wrong, and they had someone stirring the Gatorade with a sleeve of cups. And the stadium was taken over by Bears fans, too.”

“Oh, wait, remember when Detroit went 0-16 in 2008? The next year they started off I think 0-2, and guess who they broke their losing streak against?” JP recalled. “September 27, 2009. What a game.”

Hiring Jim Zorn and the fiasco behind that also came up, as did an Eagles-Redskins game where the Birds opened the game with a bomb touchdown to DeSean Jackson as examples, and producer Jeff chimed in with a moment Zorn tried the same play twice in a row around a timeout.

“Swinging Gate, man, what a disaster!” JP said.

Some callers chimed in with their low points as well, and even Chick Hernandez called in while recovering from major surgery to weigh in – take a listen!
