BMitch & Finlay react to the Commanders hiring Dan Quinn

The third straight day of breaking Commanders coaching news on BMitch & Finlay, but this time, good news: Washington is hiring Cowboys DC Dan Quinn as their new head coach.

“I know fans are going to have a lot to say about this. In six seasons as head coach in Atlanta, Dan Quinn was 43-42, highlighted by a Super Bowl appearance in 2016 with Kyle Shanahan as their play caller,” JP said. “When you hear from folks around the league about him, what you hear over and over again is he is a leader of men. I think some folks are going to think this is underwhelming, given the options – but of the last three guys left, Quinn’s the only one with head coaching experience. Lots of folks might prefer to go a different direction, but this is the direction, and if you loved Josh Harris in July and Adam Peters in January, you’re now going to love Dan Quinn.”

“Winning record – better than most people we’ve had here already,” BMitch replied. “The complaint was they’re taking too long, but they hired somebody now. It may not be the guy everyone wanted, but it’s the guy you have to back up now. And watching their defense, yeah, the last time out somebody put points up, but for the most part, his defenses were good. But his reputation is as a leader of men, and he gets the best out of his players. I want everybody to be thinking about working and getting better, instead of complaining about trying to get better.”
