Long before the Commanders signed four players, including running back Austin Ekeler, on Monday, BMitch and Finlay had an interesting idea: should the Commanders consider a trade for Cincinnati’s Tee Higgins?
The star wideout has requested a trade from Cincy after getting the franchise tag from the team, still desiring a long-term deal even with that tag carrying a $21.8 million pay day in 2024 if he plays on it.
Injuries and inefficiency helped Higgins take a backseat to Ja’Marr Chase with the Bengals last season, but if the former second-round pick becomes available, the Commanders would have the cap space for a contract and the draft capital to make a deal – but would, or should, they have the desire to do so?
