BMitch & Finlay: Who do you need to see step up for the Commanders Thursday night?

There’s debate whether Thursday night is a must-win or not, given the spot in the season and the opponent, for the Commanders, and of course debate on Sam Howell’s progress and the state of the defense.

But, win, lose, or draw, who do you need to see step up for the Commanders on Thursday night?

Landphill needs Antonio Gibson to play well and not fumble – ‘my one belief about football is fumbles are bad’ – and Jeff 2 Funny is going defense with Emmanuel Forbes, because as he said, ‘they saw the tape against Diggs and Brown, and I think Justin (Fields) is gonna try his hand – so any time he touches the ball, I need him to come down with at least one pick.”

BMitch is going with Jamin Davis, because he’s used a lot as a spy against running QBs.

“I believe that Fields is gonna run, and when they start saying 48.5 (as an over/under), they expect him to run a lot, and I need sure tackling,” BMitch said. “I believe Jamin has the ability to be great, but I need to start seeing him stepping towards greatness.”

We even got a bonus selection from Anthony Haynie, the producer of the Craig Hoffman Show on The Team 980, who was in the fishbowl with the boys, and picked Derrick Forrest, because ‘he's been on the opposite end of a lot of big plays that have been given up, so he needs to put his money where his mouth is.”

And then there’s JP Finlay, who said those were all valid picks…and all incorrect?

“The correct answer is Montez Sweat,” JP said as the guys jeered his choice of words, “because in two wins, Montez Sweat has three sacks, and in two losses, Montez Sweat has zero sacks.”

JP also wants to see Sam Howell run a little more, so we’ll see – but who do YOU need to see step up tomorrow night?
