BMitch & Finlay talk every week about players who need to step up for the Commanders, and for a change, one of them was vindicated for last week’s pick.
“I specifically said Jamin Davis, because I thought he was the type of player who has the talent to change games,” JP said, “and I kind of think it happened – he sealed the game with the interception in the closing seconds.”
So, riding a one-game hot streak, JP is ready for another under-the-radar star to get rolling in New York.
“Jahan Dotson is not having the start of the season anyone has expected – five catches for 40 yards in the opener is his highest output. There’s not a lot of depth to his stats,” JP said. “So, here’s my thought: Dotson has been working a lot of short stuff, and we know the Giants will blitz, with plenty of man coverage on the outside. We know he can be pretty shifty, and has range and long arms. I think he needs to step up, and he will, so I’m calling it: a Dotson TD in this game.”
As for BMitch, he’s going defense, but a level below last week’s winner.
“I’m going a tandem in Allen and Payne; I know that they're capable of taking over games, and this is a game they're gonna have to take over,” Brian said. “Whether Daniel Jones or Tyrod Taylor plays, the running game has to be nullified to make them have to beat you passing the ball. Those two guys are the center of the run defense, right? SO that’s where I go. If those guys do what I know they’re capable of, the defensive line will dominate.”
“The Giants’ O-line is so beat up, it’s a mess; the backups are hurt and guys they called up are out…you’d like to think this is a game where the defensive line dominates,” JP replied. “Sweat, Young, even the way Toohill has been playing, the game plan should be similar to what it was in Atlanta: stop the run, make them beat you with their arm.”
