BMitch: Players demanding trades 'the funniest thing in the world to me'

It’s the era of player empowerment in sports, and Josh Harris got (and finally swallowed) a big dose of that with one of his other teams, a tenuous situation in Philly ending late last night when the Sixers agree to trade a disgruntled James Harden to the Clippers.

Well, not long before we found out it was Montez Sweat heading to Chicago, BMitch & Finlay read some rumors that the Bears were adding a defensive end via trade, and speculated it could be one of the Commanders’ two trade pieces.

One of the other possible names they discussed, though, was Carolina’s Brian Burns, who is at a stalemate on a new deal with the Panthers, and JP brought up the idea of a Burns for Sweat swap and “Spider-Man meme this thing” for a double change of scenery, or what Chase Young’s physical might look like if he gets dealt – especially to the Bears, who are building for the future (which is likely why they went for Sweat in the end).

And after all that discussion between the guys, when they were talking about it coming up on two years since Chase Young’s knee injury, JP brought up that reports out of Chicago that cornerback Jaylon Jennings is demanding a trade…and that’s just not in BMitch’s wheelhouse.

“It’s the funniest thing in the world with me when somebody demands a trade,” Brian said. “You can’t make nobody trade you. If they want to trade you, they'll trade you.”

“I demand a raise – you think we're gonna get it?” JP yelled out to our esteemed program director, Chris Kinard, in response, and you could hear CK yell no on the air from down the hall!

Jeff Walker demanded wings and Landfill demanded pizza, which CK finally acquiesced to – so perhaps demands can be met?
