It appears we have the first re-signing in Commanders free agency: according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Commanders and Pro Bowl special teamer Jeremy Reaves have agreed to terms on a two-year deal.
Reaves, 27, was undrafted out of Southern Alabama in 2018 and was an up-and-down practice squadder for the Commanders from 2018-21, but came into his own as a special teamer in 2022, earning that Pro Bowl nod and an All-Pro selection.
He signed a one-year contract tender last offseason but missed most of 2023 due to a partially torn ACL.
In addition to his special teams prowess, Reaves has 60 career defensive tackles in 720 snaps, and can fill a role at safety following the departures of Kam Curl and Terrell Burgess.
