The free agency period is officially upon us in the NFL, with the legal tampering period opening on Monday afternoon. And so far, the Dallas Cowboys have already lost two key members of the 2023 team.
According to reports, Cowboys defensive end Dorance Armstrong has elected to follow his former defensive coordinator, Dan Quinn, and sign with the Washington Commanders. Per Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Post, it's a three-year deal with the Commanders worth $33 million base, with a max of $45 million.
The report comes shortly after running back Tony Pollard agreed to a three-year deal with the Tennessee Titans.
Originally a fourth round pick of the Cowboys in the 2018 NFL Draft, Armstrong had an up and down career with Dallas over the last six seasons, but really came on over the last three.
Since 2021, Armstrong has amassed 21 sacks, 20 tackles for loss, 40 quarterback hits and 108 total tackles.
