It’s officially official: Eric Bieniemy is out in DC.

That was seemingly confirmed when the Commanders hired Kliff Kingsbury was hired as the new offensive coordinator Sunday, but officially mentioned in Dan Quinn’s introductory press conference on Monday afternoon.

“I had a good visit with EB. We’re not going to work together here, but in this coaching brotherhood, I wanted him to know I respect what he’s done,” Quinn said when asked if he had spoken to Bieniemy. “I think he’s an excellent coach and I wish him nothing but the best, and he’ll do a great job.”

Bieniemy was not officially let go by the team prior to Quinn’s hire last week, and in fact, even interviewed for the head coaching vacancy during the process.

However, it’s now clear that after one season in DC, in which the Commanders’ offense was middle to bottom of the pack in most good categories and had players near the top in bad – Sam Howell, for instance, led the league in both interceptions and sacks taken – EB is now once again on the job search.
