Danny Rouhier is not a GM, nor does he play one on TV, nor does he ever stay at a Holiday Inn Express. And, as we know, the defensive line is probably THE strength of the Commanders.
But if you ask Danny, and nobody did but he told us anyway, he’ll tell you he can’t understand why no one has signed Yannick Ngakoue just yet.
“Again, I’m just a dude who watches sports like everyone else does, and I try to read stuff and I try to know what I'm talking about – but I do not understand why no one is signing Yannick Ngakoue just yet,” Danny said Monday. “Nobody’s saying this is Michael Strahan in his prime, but 10 sacks and 9.5 sacks the last couple years…seems like nobody’s interested in that?”
Washington, even with their strengths, should be, in Danny’s mind.
“You know who should be interested? Washington!” Danny said. “Instead of a hyphen after a guy that’s been oft-injured and one guy who could probably use some spelling – Montez Sweat has missed a bunch of games, and guys get hurt. A bona fide pass rusher as part of a rotation? They should be doing that right now, this minute. I have no idea why not, unless there’s some injury I don't know about or some attitude problem – but 19.5 sacks over the last couple years? People are taking that for granted.”
