We’ve heard talk that a lot of Commanders will be gone this offseason, for one of many reasons, and now it looks like quarterback may be in for an upgrade, too – but if they bring in free agents, they’re going to have to pay them somehow, right?

Well, if you missed it on Tuesday, Doc & Lynnell, filling in for Grant & Danny, posited an interesting theory: after trading Chase Young and Montez Sweat, could the Commanders look to move on from Jonathan Allen this offseason?

Allen has expressed frustration with losing multiple times in multiple ways this season, and his contract might be the easiest to get out via trade (two years at a $21.5 or $23 million cap hit) or some sort of release ($12 million dead cap in ’24, $6 million in ’25), so a Pro Bowl DT in his late-20s could be a valuable commodity.

Take a listen above as Doc & Lynnell debate the idea of a third of the four straight first-round defensive linemen ending up elsewhere.
