Grant & Danny relieved that Josh Harris has agreed to changes suggested by NFL Finance Committee

Josh Harris and Mitchell Rales met with the NFL Finance Committee in NYC on Wednesday, and according to WaPo, Harris has made the changes the committee has asked him to make in order for them to feel comfortable with his bid to buy the Commanders.

And that has to make you feel good, at least if you’re Grant & Danny.

“It totally does. I want everyone to match the urgency; Harris is in the catbird seat, but the sense that the league has all these rules, and it’s a muscle-measuring contest…let’s all just admit this is the best we’re going to do, and get moving forward,” Danny said.

“I think if you’ve been tracking this sale and had anxiety…I think the moment we found out the sale had gone through, that’s when it went away,” Grant said. “There’s still going to be a lot of work to be done, and I won’t tell anyone how to think, but it seems fans are still reacting to every report with nerves…everyone stay calm and R-E-L-A-X.”

The big thing Grant saw today, though, was that the committee asked Harris for some concessions and supposedly they were made…which maybe means the sale is ratified sooner than later?

“I’d bet they haven’t made all the changes, or today is the be-all, end-all conversation where the committee is happy. There might still be work to do,” Grant said. “But if it is, well, then, that was easy, and we get an A-plus. I still think that might happen, and maybe a late-June, early-July vote is my hope. It might be aggressive, but let’s get them all in the same room and have the ratification.”

“This is so much more complicated than any transaction regular human beings can even fathom because of all the nuances they’ll never experience,” Danny replied. “But if Harris and company are able to make the changes and we end up where we’re supposed to, that’s good for everybody. Harris’ flexibility is important here, because it seemed like they were going to be cash-poor; there are things to be concerned about, so I’m interested to see what gets cleaned up and adjusted.”

Grant hasn’t been following the specifics ad infinitum, and he’s just glad Dan Snyder didn’t have to be dragged kicking and screaming out of the facility to make the sale happen – and the league won’t let the sale ‘get to the next guy.’

“He’s out, he’s gone, ding-dong, it’s over,” Grant said. “$50 billion from all these guys, let’s figure it out somehow, some way.”
