Dan Quinn is the guy, and ‘you could’ve done a lot worse, probably’ in Grant Paulsen’s grudging words.

Now, however, he’s going to have to put together a staff, and as many have said all along, with a defensive coach, the offensive staff is going to be paramount to the team’s success – and that means Quinn needs a rock star as his OC, a guy like that Shanahan fella who led the Falcons O to Super Bowl LI and went on to do something or other elsewhere.

There's a hot rumor that former Eagles and Niners head coach Chip Kelly, now the OC at USC, was perhaps a 'package deal' with Quinn as his OC, but is that the right look? Is a Shanahan disciple and Adam Peters-familiar guy in one of the many 49ers assistants (like QB coach Brian Griese, or passing game coordinator Klint Kubiak, both the sons of brilliant offensive minds) the right move, or a familiar face from Brian Schottenheimer’s staff in Dallas? Or is there another young assistant on a high-octane offense somewhere in the league his eyes are on?

Grant & Danny, after surveying the hire of Quinn and starting to look forward, threw out some names as ideas of who could be the rock-star coordinator that Quinn seemingly needs in DC.
