As the Josh Harris group gets ready to officially take over ownership of the Commanders, Grant says he is setting the bar incredibly low for the new group, especially when considering the disaster they will be replacing in Washington.
“Am I in the minority/alone when I say I don’t really have concerns about the Harris group?” Grant said. “Because I don’t really care how good they are at this. I happen to think they’ll be good at this, because Harris has had success at turning programs around and having them in contention every year and in the playoffs.
“Even if it’s bad, this is so welcomed. I will open my doors and welcome them into my house, be bad. Be bad wherever you like…go be bad.”
Danny isn’t ready to go that far, though he says he will give a generous grace period, as there will be an extended honeymoon phase just from having Dan Snyder gone.
“I’m going to allow some grace period for these guys to stumble and screw up a little bit,” Danny said. “I won’t come down as hard…at some point, that’s going to turn. At some point, I care about them doing the right things and showing they’re ahead of the game in certain ways.”
Grant said his grace period, for the time being, is indefinite.
“I think mine is in perpetuity,” Grant said.
