“We live and we play in a production-based world and a production-based league, and when the defense is playing like we’ve played, heads are gonna roll,” Allen said. “I do not believe Jack was the sole reason we are where we are, but as the guy who leads the group, you’re gonna get the blame…it’s part of the business. It sucks, but at the end of the day, we get paid to perform, and if you don’t, changes are gonna be made.”
Allen added that he didn’t notice anything during in-game execution or game preparation that caused him to strongly disagree with Del Rio’s procedure, and added that there is blame to go around through the entire defense when it comes to his firing.
“There’s nothing he did that I largely disagree with,” Allen said. “As players, I think we could have performed better.”
