Terry McLaurin was absent from the entirety of the Washington Commanders’ minicamp, sitting out as he and the team try to come to terms on a longer-term contract.
The fourth-year man has been the undisputed No. 1 in DC for three seasons, although the Commanders did draft a similar player this year in Jahan Dotson.
And given the situation with fourth-year receivers in the league, one Junkie thinks that even if he’s not “better” than A.J. Brown, McLaurin is worth a deal similar to the four-year, $100 million extension with $57 million guaranteed that Brown got when he was dealt to Philly on draft day.
“I’m not saying he’s better than A.J. Brown, but he’s in the neighborhood. For me, $20 to $23 million is nowhere near getting it done. If I’m his agents and the Martys are throwing out a two-zero number, that’s a non-starter.”
There was wonder among the group if guaranteeing the whole deal would make a difference, or why one threw out a $20 million number based on other comparable receiver deals, but it seems no matter what, T-Mac is getting PAID.
