With new ownership shortly taking things over with the Commanders, does that mean team president Jason Wright is on his way out?
The Sports Junkies assume that will indeed be the eventual fate of Wright, as new ownership typically means bringing in their own crew to start anew.
“I guarantee you they’ve got this own little list of guys that they want to work with, their own team, and they’re gonna implement their own people,” EB said. “There’s always a clearing of the deck. New people come in…I think they want to make it appear like they are evaluating everybody, but in my opinion, they always have their own team of guys. Unless you’re extraordinary, and maybe you can win them over.”
Some Junks varied in how long Wright will be in his current position, but the consensus was that it wouldn’t be for the long haul.
“There’s a transition time, and then there’s a whole new crew,” Jason Bishop said. “They might keep him for the next couple years, or wait a few weeks or months and make a change.”
