John Keim is one of our many men on the spot for the Commanders; and when he joined BMitch & Finlay to give a bit of a rookie minicamp update on Monday, JP asked him the same question he asked Barry Svrluga and all the listeners: what should the new owners’ first order of business be?
JP thinks Ron Rivera and the field staff is sticking around for now, and the business side might move a little faster but not right away, so what will the first big impact of the Harris group be?
“It’s going to be about the stadium, and I think they’ll take the season to evaluate the offices,” Keim said. “Stadium site will be a big priority, because that’s how you get the best return on your investment – and we still don’t know when the owners will actually vote on this, because the NFL has to vet all the limited partners. So, what are the odds that it’s into the summer before this gets approved, and you can’t really make any moves?”
