Grant & Danny's one concern about Josh Harris becoming Commanders owner

There is universal excitement in Washington as Dan Snyder is all but done as the Commanders owner, and fans dream of a new dawn for a once proud franchise that fell to the bottom of the league in fan attendance last season.

But while the fanbase is buzzing for the inevitable sale to Josh Harris, are there any concerns that Commanders fans should have about Harris taking over?

Grant and Danny presented one in particular.

“I’m excited about the fact that I think he’s pretty analytically sharp…I love that,” Grant said. “What I am nervous about…I don’t love the idea of him owning three teams. That is not to say that I don’t want him to buy the team. I would love for him to buy the team.

“But if it were up to me, I would have him sell one of his teams.”

Ideally, Grant would like to see Harris give up one of the 76ers or Devils so he could focus more on how to improve the Commanders franchise, which needs a lot of attention to turn things around.

“‘Now that I have an NFL team, I want the cash so I can do this right, so I’m selling the Devils,’” Grant said, acting as Harris in his ideal scenario. “My dream would be that he sell both, but I know that’s not realistic.

“I would prefer the owner, in a perfect world, not to be making the Commanders the third team he owns as the majority owner, and the fifth or sixth team he has a piece in, but that’s not a deal-breaker. This is just my, ‘This is not ideal’ thought.”

Danny could also see Harris owning three franchises as potentially problematic, though still light years better than the prospect of Snyder remaining as owner.

“The other thing you worry about if you’re stretched too thin is…what I call the disinterested micromanager,” Danny said. “The guy that can’t be there every day, but will come in, not really listen to what’s going on, not really hear concerns, and everyone just lives in fear of the guy, because any time you see him, it means somebody is getting fired…he’s in town because something bad happened. That’s not a good culture to work in.”
