So at the top of Friday’s show, BMitch & Finlay, and Landfill and Jeff, had a bit of a discussion about whether or not fans could, should, or would be right to be mad if the Commanders beat the Jets on Sunday and perhaps hurt their draft position.

Fridays mean an appearance from PFT Commenter on the show, so of course, they asked him, a die-hard Commanders fan, where he stands, which is…on the fence?

“I’m betting on the Commanders this weekend because I think the wrong team is favored, and the way I usually operate is during the week I want them to lose, and once the gam kicks off, I root for them to win,” PFTC said. “I don’t like watching my team play and get their butt kicks. As a fan, it’s tough to watch and be glad it’s happening. During the game, I’ll be rooting my butt off for the Commanders, but every other hour this week, I’ll be thinking we should lose this game.”

Draft picks are a crap shoot, as some say, but for three hours, that’s in the back of his mind – but that’s not to say he’s upset if others don’t feel the same way, including himself at times.

“I don’t judge somebody if they openly root against their team if it means a draft pick, but if you really want to play the draft pick game, you have to have confidence your front office isn’t going to screw that pick up,” he said. “I get 17 weekends a year where I get to cheer for my team, so during that game, I'm going to cheer for my team. But, imagine if we had drafted Tua or Justin Herbert and had a good young quarterback and we’re going through the same thing the Chargers are going through? Who’s to say what would’ve happened, but you do go back and think what if with Burrow.”

However, if you look back at the Commanders’ last touchdown drive last weekend, which featured the longest game-clock elapsed time ever for a team to score a touchdown after having first and goal at the one-yard line?

“It kind of proved to me that Ron isn’t trying to win these games, and from a 20,000-foot perspective, you don’t want to win these games,” he said. “Losing these games are important for draft picks. You want key players to play well, show progression, and plan for the future, but it’s not a benefit in any way shape or form to win these games. So it just establishes that either on is the most incompetent coach ever in terms of clock management, which is possible, or we’re trying to lose those games.”
