Ron Rivera officially named Jacoby Brissett as QB1 for Sunday against San Francisco around 11 am Wednesday…and even though it was a largely-expected announcement, BMitch & Finlay confirmed they both believe it's the right move.
"My stance on this is that a lot of decisions throughout the year have ben incorrect about Sam Howell," JP said. "You built a run-first team and then hired a pass-first OC, and your personnel decisions on the offensive line didn't work – but for me, if you watch the last month, Sam looks lost. He has happy feet and he's not keeping his eyes downfield, and I think if you actually care about him and what he can become in the NFL, sitting him right now is the right move."
"I think so, and I don't see anything wrong with this," BMitch replied. "Earnest Byner taught me this game of football, and I look at Jacoby as very much the way Earnest was; when I was sitting there watching, I dissected everything he did, and that's what Sam is going to have to do. There are guys like Jacoby who will come along and help you out, and now it's on Sam to figure it out."
Hopefully, one or two games watching Brissett run the offense in full game situations can help that.
