QB, or not QB, that is the question…and while yeah it’s probably QB, even if they trade down, but Cakes found a wild mock draft that if it happens, he’d give Bish ‘one trillion United States dollars' if it happens: Washington acquires Justin Fields and trades Sam Howell to Denver, and then takes LSU WR Malik Nabers at No. 2 overall, over Marvin Harrison Jr.
Wait, WHAT?
“Apparently is for those in the know, not a stretch,” EB said of Nabors going over MHJ, at least. “Those of us that are into name recognition and everything, we think it's Marvin Harrison Jr. obviously, but this guy apparently is right there with him.”
The rest of it, though, kind of has the Junks wondering why they’d give something up for one or two years of Fields rather than just have four to five of a QB they select.
“I just don't know if Adam Peters is going to want to take on a guy who he's gonna have to immediately extend and give 30 plus million dollars a year to, if he's not sold on him being the guy,” Cakes said.
“Adam Peters is going to take Williams, Maye, or Daniels at two, depending on who's there,” Bish said, and JP added that “Eugene Shen is not gonna allow them to get Justin Fields from what I've seen from a lot of these analytics people online.”
Plus…
“If they did trade for Fields, other teams are gonna be grasping for a quarterback, so you're gonna get value at No. 2 and you're gonna trade down if you're not taking a quarterback,” Bish said.
“Ben Volin just said there's just a glut of quarterbacks who are all about the same, like probably throw Justin Fields into that mix,” Cakes replied. “Why would you trade for him when you can draft a guy?”
This mock draft is just WILD, and you can take a listen to the Junks’ entire convo on it above!
