It’s official: the Commanders will be hosting a game in London this season!

The team made the announcement on Thursday, marking 2026 as the second straight year and third time overall the Commanders will play overseas; they lost to Miami in the first-ever game in Madrid last season, and their first international trip was a 27-27 tie with Cincinnati in London in 2016.

"Last season's trip to Madrid was personally unforgettable, and a tremendous milestone for our organization," owner Josh Harris said in the team’s release. "Playing in the NFL's first regular season game in Spain and experiencing the passion of fans was truly special and reaffirmed the power of and excitement for the Commanders and NFL globally. London is home to some of the most passionate sports fans in the world. We're grateful for the opportunity to bring the Commanders and NFL football to this unique city. This trip represents another meaningful moment to engage new communities, strengthen relationships, and continue to enhance our fanbase in the U.K. and worldwide."

The United Kingdom, which has hosted 42 NFL games so far, will host three more next season, with Jacksonville announced as the host team for the other two. The three U.K. games are part of a record nine international visits for the NFL next year, a slate that also includes returns to Madrid, Mexico City, and Munich, the first-ever visits to France (Paris) and Australia (Melbourne), and a debut in Rio after two previous games in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The Commanders’ game will be held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the official date and opponent TBD when the NFL releases its full schedule. Cincinnati is scheduled to be one of Washington’s six non-division home opponents next year, along with the Falcons, Texans, Colts, Rams, and Super Bowl Champion Seahawks.

"We look forward to welcoming the Commanders and Jaguars back to London as part of the 2026 NFL international games," said NFL U.K. & Ireland General Manager Henry Hodgson. "The NFL London games bring fans together from across the UK and beyond, and play a key role in engaging our existing fans as well as creating new audiences and driving NFL fandom in this market."
