The Washington Football Team signed former Chicago Bears left tackle Charles Leno to a one-year, $5 million deal on Wednesday.
The veteran offensive lineman had started every game for the Bears since Week 4 of the 2015 season, a 93-game streak.
The addition of Leno at left tackle will give Washington's second-round selection Samuel Cosmi more time to develop and added depth to a unit that experienced several injuries during the 2020 season. WFT also added veteran lineman Ereck Flowers, who has played at guard and tackle, in a trade with the Dolphins before the draft.
Leno, 6-foot-3, 307 pounds, was named to the Pro Bowl in 2018. He was taking in the seventh round (246th overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft out of Boise State.
