The Washington Football Team released tight end Marcus Baugh, announcing the roster move on Monday afternoon.
Baugh, an undrafted free agent (Ohio State) in 2018, appeared in eight games for Washington in 2020, catching one pass for two yards in Week 2 against the Cardinals.
Baugh's release cuts down on the glut Washington had at the position, which swelled to eight tight ends after last week's free agent signing of Deon Yelder.
Washington's TEs group now includes: Yelder, Logan Thomas, Temarrick Hemingway, Dylan Cantrell, Tyrone Swoopes, Sammis Reyes and fourth-round pick John Bates.
Baugh first joined Washington in March 2020 after being released by the Panthers. He's also had stints on the Panthers' and Raiders' practice squads.
