The Washington Football Team signed tight end Deon Yelder and cornerback Linden Stephens, filling two of its four open roster spots on Wednesday.
Yelder, 26, went undrafted in 2018 (Western Kentucky) was originally a member of the Saints practice squad before spending the past three seasons on the Chiefs' active roster.
After appearing in three games his rookie season, Yelder combined for 10 catches for 86 yards across 23 games (two starts) in 2019 and 2020.
He's also appeared in four playoff games for the Chiefs, catching one pass for 11 yards in a 2019 divisional round game against the Texans and seeing the field for six offensive snaps during this year's Super Bowl against the Buccaneers.
Yelder joins an already loaded tight ends group that includes Logan Thomas, Marcus Baugh, Temarrick Hemingway, Dylan Cantrell, Tyrone Swoopes, Sammis Reyes and fourth-round pick John Bates.
Stephens, 26, went undrafted in 2018 (Cincinnati) and bounced around on the practice squads of the Saints, Rams, Broncos and Seahawks before earning roster spots with the Dolphins and Seahawks, in 2019 and 2020, respectively. He has six total tackles in 16 career games the past two seasons.
