Why does Danny Rouhier hate NFL schedule release day?

The NFL schedule will be released in full on Thursday, but we got some leaks Wednesday with the international games and the reveal of what we'll see on Christmas and Black Friday.

Seems like anything and everything related to sports off-seasons is a made-for-TV event and/or a big deal these days, but count the NFL schedule release in the same boat for Danny Rouhier as the Kentucky Derby, Patrick Corbin, and several other things he just can't even with.

"I just can't do it. The leaks that have come out, it's kind of like algebra to me…I can't keep track of all of it," Danny said. "I need to see it and visualize it. I can't do the buildup to it, I just need you to tell me when and where they're playing."

See, Grant Paulsen noted that Thursday's show will be very schedule-heavy, so he wanted to have some real talk about it. He understands Danny just wants to push a button and have it in his inbox Friday morning, but for him, the whole spectacle is fun.

"I think it's fun, and indicative of the fact that this league just dominated everything, because no other league could do this," Grant said. "I love it as an event, and it's become social media creativity porn."

There is one thing he agrees with Danny on, though.

"Today I'm seeing, as there are some leaks on certain games, people are going in and dropping them in as, like, 'oh, the Commanders can't play this team this week,' and piecing it together," Grant said. "I don't want to disparage something people enjoy, but that just seems like a lot to me, crossing things off like a bingo game."

That's what it all feels like to Danny, who says 'if you love it, love it,' but he can't handle the NFL making it a week-long extravaganza – to which Grant made an interesting parallel.

"It feels to me like they're cooking us a meal, and we're all sitting here waiting for it to come out of the kitchen, and all they're doing is sending us morsels and keeping us wanting more," Grant said.

Of course, he still loves it once the schedule is out, but he's cool with waiting on it.

"My wife and I used to go to one road game a year, and while you already know where they're going, but you don't know when – and I don't want to go to Green Bay in December, or the West Coast right before Christmas," Grant said. "But, we didn't have to do the week-by-week crossing out to figure it out, we could wait."

"I desperately want to know when they're playing the Giants, or if there are a few NFC East games down the stretch or things like that – I'm very pro-information, and I like that it's a time for teams' content creation groups to shine, but I just can't do this extravaganza," Danny replied. "But, I get that I'm the weird one here, that the NFL is offering something I'm refusing."
