The Wizards are 17-63, tied with the Jazz for the worst record in the NBA (and guaranteed a bottom three finish to earn the best odds in the NBA Draft Lottery) as they head into their final two games this weekend.
The home slate ended with a 19-point loss to the Sixers on Wednesday night, but when Wes Hall joined BMitch and Finlay Thursday to discuss the season, he noted that, as Brian and JP kind of have all year long, the Wiz ‘understood the assignment’ this season.

“When it comes to the players, they're going to compete, and as an organization they're expected to compete. When you step on that 94x50, I don't care what's going on outside of it – your job as a professional basketball player, and out of respect for the fans and the organization, you go hard,” Hall said. “That’s why I’m content with whatever may be on the outcome side.
We knew the expectation wasn't to be No. 3 in the East, that's not what we're doing; we’re trying to put ourselves in a position to not only be a consistent playoff team, but be one of those where you go in on a night in, night out basis, presuming that it’s a 50/50 shot and we're going to take on whoever comes in this building tonight. That’s what I want; I’m tired of being mediocre and hanging in the middle. Nobody enjoys that.”
