Buffalo, N.Y. (Audacy Sports/WGR 550) - The Miami Dolphins are gearing up for their first playoff game this Sunday afternoon in six years.

While that should be a cause for celebration, Dolphins fans seem to be dreading their inevitable fate, led to slaughter as 13.5-point road underdogs against the Buffalo Bills in Orchard Park.

Despite the ambush they’re walking into, clinging to the faint hope that third-string quarterback Skylar Thompson might summon a miracle of staggering proportion (think Lake Placid in 1980), reporters have dutifully made their way to Buffalo for the game. This includes WPLG’s Will Manso, who had his live shot on Friday night’s local news interrupted by a snowball thrown in his direction.

Comedically, the timing couldn’t have been any better, coming seconds after Manso spoke glowingly of Buffalo’s fans, treating him and other media members with the utmost respect.

Manso may have spoken too soon, naïve in his assumption that "Bills Mafia" would welcome an outsider, particularly one with ties to a division rival, with anything other than resentment and hostility.

A veteran newscaster with over 20 years of reporting experience, Manso handled it like a pro, taking the friendly fire in stride while joking about the countless layers he had on, bundling up in winter attire (probably stashed in a seldom-used corner of his closet) to combat the special hell that is January in Western New York.

Temperatures are expected to be in the high 20s for Sunday’s Wild Card Round game at Highmark Stadium, a far cry from the tropical delight that is South Florida, with its scenic beaches and year-round sunshine.
