Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills now have a huge hole to fill at middle linebacker, as Tremaine Edmunds has officially left Western New York to sign with the Chicago Bears. The deal became official on Wednesday when NFL Free Agency opened at 4 p.m. ET league-wide.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the four-year contract given to Edmunds is worth up to $72 million, with $50 million of the money guaranteed.

Edmunds was a first-round pick (16th overall) of the Bills in the 2018 NFL Draft, and has been a staple of the Buffalo defense since being drafted. In 74 career games with the Bills over five seasons, Edmunds totaled 565 total tackles, 32 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, 18 quarterback hits, five interceptions and two forced fumbles.
The 24-year-old was also named to two Pro Bowls in back-to-back years in 2019 and 2020.
