Buffalo, NY (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Canadiens got on the board first as Phillip Danault was stationed in front of the crease and the puck deflected in off his skate from a point shot by Kaiden Guhle.
Later in the period, Cole Caufield had two point blank shots in front and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was up to the task making two big glove saves. Though Zach Benson would receive a delay of game penalty on the clearing attempt after the second save and the Canadiens headed to the power play. Montreal extended their lead with the man advantage as Nick Suzuki found Zachary Bolduc in front for a one-timer to extend their lead to 2-0.
Early in the second period, Buffalo looked to have a four minute power play coming as Josh Norris was caught with a high stick that drew blood. After review, it was called back after the replay showed the contact coming from Zach Benson's stick.
