BUFFALO, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - Round five continued at a blistering pace as the Sabres were on the clock in no-time. They selected forward Doman Szongoth with the 156th overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft. He's 18 years old, 6'0'', and 195 pounds.
Szongoth, in 44 games last season with the KooKoo in the U20 SM-Sarja, tallied 10 goals, 18 assists, and totaling 28 points, ranking fourth in all KooKoo U20 Skaters in assists and points. Overall, he's played 81 games with the KooKoo from 2024 to 2026 and totaled 44 points throughout.
Szongoth represented Hungary in the 2026 IIHF World Championship where he tallied one point. He also represented Hungary in the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship Division I, group B. Also, he served as a captain for Hungary in the 2026 IIHFU18 World Championship Division I, group A.
The Sabres will next select with the 188th pick in the sixth round of the Draft.
