(670 The Score) The Cubs have promoted infielder/outfielder Jim Adduci from Triple-A Iowa ahead of a game against the Astros on Monday afternoon.
In a corresponding move, Chicago optioned lefty reliever Tim Collins to Triple-A.
Adduci, 34, has played parts of four MLB seasons with the Rangers and Tigers. He's a career .235 hitter in the big leagues. Adduci was in the Cubs' minor league system from 2007-'12.
Adduci was hitting .261 with seven homers and 29 RBIs in 41 games at Triple-A this season.
Collins has a 3.86 ERA in five relief appearances for the Cubs.
