Bears officially sign offensive tackle Jason Peters to 1-year deal

(670 The Score) The Bears have added to their injury-plagued offensive line.

Chicago on Monday officially signed offensive tackle Jason Peters to a one-year deal, the team announced. His addition comes as rookie Teven Jenkins – the projected starter at left tackle – has been out for the entirety of training camp with a back injury. It remains unclear when Jenkins could return to action, and the Bears have had other injuries issues up front too. Peters will compete for the left tackle job.

Peters, 39, is a nine-time Pro Bowler, though he hasn't earned that honor since 2016. He has played in 213 games, including making 203 starts, in his 17-year NFL career. Peters started eight games for the Eagles in 2020, when he dealt with a foot injury that forced him out of action in the latter half of the regular season.
