(670 The Score) Two years ago, the Bears selected Justin Fields with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft with the hope that he could change the franchise's troubling history at quarterback.
While there's plenty of pressure that comes with being in his position, Fields doesn't allow the Bears' tortured quarterback history to affect him, as he told the Slow News Day podcast with Kevin Clark.
"In all honestly, it's not my fault that they haven't had a franchise quarterback," Fields said. "My expectations, I think they're higher than what any fan out there has for me. I want to be the best I can be. I think the amounts of success I want to bring to our team, to this organization, to our city, it's greater than what anybody expects. It's no added pressure at all because I want to be the best I can be and I know how great I can be."
Fields completed 60.4% of his passes for 2,242 yards, 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while adding 160 carries for 1,143 yards and eight rushing scores in 15 games in the 2022 season, when the Bears went 3-14 and landed the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft.
