LAKE FOREST, Ill. (104.3 The Score) – The Bears traded up a few spots to select Texas cornerback Malik Muhammad with the 124th overall pick in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.
Muhammad, 21, was a second-team All-SEC selection last season, when he had two interceptions in 11 games. Muhammad projects to compete with Tyrique Stevenson for a starting cornerback spot on the opposite side of Jaylon Johnson.
The Bears entered the day holding the 129th overall pick before trading up five spots to land Muhammad. To acquire No. 124 overall, the Bears traded No. 129 overall and No. 144 overall in the fifth round to the Panthers while also getting back No. 166 overall in the fifth round from Carolina.
