LAKE FOREST, Ill. (104.3 The Score) — The Bears welcomed back a pair of key starters to practice Wednesday morning.
Bears receiver Luther Burden III (groin) returned to practice for the first time since suffering an injury on Aug. 8. Though it was lighter work for the team Wednesday, Burden began working toward full speed.
Additionally, Bears right tackle Darnell Wright (elbow) was back on the field Wednesday after leaving action Tuesday with an apparent elbow ailment. He wore a brace on that right elbow but appeared to perform without restrictions.
Burden is set to play a key role as one of the Bears’ top playmakers this season. He had 47 receptions and two touchdowns as a rookie last season, when he took on a bigger role late in the campaign. Wright has started 49 games at right tackle over three seasons with the team.
The Bears will have a joint practice with the Titans on Thursday in Nashville. The two teams will then meet at 5 p.m. CT on Saturday in their preseason finales.
