Report: Jimmy Graham is selling Russell Wilson on a potential trade to Bears

The Bears are one of four teams that Wilson is willing to be traded to, according to a report.

(670 The Score) The possibility of the Seahawks trading star quarterback Russell Wilson sometime this offseason has grown in recent weeks as details of the rift between the sides have been revealed. A seven-time Pro Bowler, Wilson doesn't believe his voice is being taken into consideration by management, and he's also upset by the lack of strong pass protection around him.

News surfaced last week that the Bears are one of four teams that Wilson -- who holds a no-trade clause -- would accept a trade to, along with the Raiders, Cowboys and Saints, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported. So what's the attraction of Chicago in the mind of Wilson? Part of it is Bears veteran tight end Jimmy Graham, NBC Sports insider Peter King reported.

"As for the Bears, I think there are three things at play: Chicago tight end Jimmy Graham is a good friend of Wilson's, and he's told him good things about the team and the city," King wrote in his Football Morning in America column. "Wilson loves the sporting zeal of the city, the love for the Cubs, the love for the Bears and might look at it like, 'Chicago hasn't had a lot of great quarterbacks, and I could be one. Maybe I could be the missing piece, and how crazy would Chicago go if the Bears ever got great again?' And I think he loves the city."

Wilson and Graham were Seahawks teammates from 2015-'17, with Graham earning Pro Bowl honors in each of his final two seasons there.

The Cowboys would only become an option for Wilson if they didn't retain quarterback Dak Prescott, who's set to become a free agent this offseason. The Raiders currently have quarterback Derek Carr under contract, while the Saints will have a void at that position if Drew Brees retires this offseason.

The rift between Wilson and the Seahawks is driven by "power and control," the Athletic reported last week.

Wilson, 32, completed 68.8% of his passes for 4,212 yards, 40 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 2020. No Bears quarterback has ever thrown for more than 4,000 yards in a single season, something Wilson has done four times since 2015.
