Bulls' Coby White out against Nets after landing in NBA's health and safety protocols

Troy Brown Jr. is expected to play a bigger role with White out.

(670 The Score) Bulls guard Coby White will be out when Chicago hosts Brooklyn on Sunday afternoon after landing in the NBA's health and safety protocols.

"He's just got a test right now that they're looking deeper into," coach Billy Donovan said without sharing much more detail.

Donovan added the Bulls should have more clarity on White's status in 24 to 48 hours. A second-year pro, White hadn't missed a game in his NBA career until sitting out last Monday and Wednesday with neck soreness. He returned in Chicago's loss at Utah on Friday before being sidelined again.

White is averaging 14.8 points and 4.6 assists. He started 36 games for the Bulls before being demoted to the bench. With White out, Donovan expects guard Troy Brown Jr. to return to the rotation after he didn't play Friday. The Bulls acquired Brown from the Wizards at the trade deadline in late March.
