Report: Bulls, Sixers Interested In Billy Donovan After He Parts Ways With Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder and coach Billy Donovan agreed to mutually part ways Tuesday, and it didn't take long for multiple suitors to emerge.

Both the Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers are believed to have interest in Donovan as their next head coach, according to multiple reports. Each team currently has a coaching vacancy.

The Bulls recently completed their first round of interviews, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported, but Donovan is an intriguing new option to hit the market and will be in demand.

The 50-year-old Donovan spent the last five seasons at the helm in Oklahoma City, going 243-157. He was the National Basketball Coach's Association's co-Coach of the Year – along with Milwaukee's Mike Budenholzer – for the 2019-'20 season.

He reached the playoffs each season with the Thunder and took them to the Western Conference Finals in his first year, when he had both Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook on the roster.

The Bulls in August fired coach Jim Boylen after two seasons, while the Sixers fired coach Brett Brown after seven seasons following a first-round playoff ouster against the Boston Celtics.

The New Orleans Pelicans and Indiana Pacers are also teams with coaching vacancies that could express interest in Donovan.
