(670 The Score) The Cubs have activated infielder Matt Duffy from the injured list and designated infielder Eric Sogard for assignment in a corresponding move, they announced Friday.
Duffy has been out since May 22 because of a back injury. He's hitting .278 with one homer, 12 RBIs and a .733 OPS in 38 games this season.
Sogard joined the Cubs on a minor league deal but struggled for most of this season. He hit .249 with one homer, 12 RBIs and a .597 OPS in 78 games.
The Cubs host the Diamondbacks at Wrigley Field on Friday afternoon. First pitch is at 1:20 p.m., with pregame starting at 12:45 p.m. on 670 The Score.
