(670 The Score) Cubs left fielder Ian Happ has been honored for his superb defensive work.
Happ on Tuesday was named a Gold Glove winner by Rawlings. It marks the first time in his career that Happ has earned such an honor. Happ had eight outfield assists and compiled 13 defensive runs saved this past season, when he also earned All-Star honors for the first time.
The other two finalists in left field in the National League were the Brewers' Christian Yelich and David Peralta, who played most of 2022 with the Diamondbacks before being traded to the Rays in late July.
Happ is the fourth outfielder in Cubs history to win a Gold Glove, joining Bob Dernier (1984), Andre Dawson (1987-'88) and Jason Heyward (2016-'17).
