CHICAGO (670 The Score) -- Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant left the game Wednesday evening with right hamstring tightness. He's considered day-to-day.
Bryant was feeling better after the game, manager David Ross said after his team's 8-3 win over the Phillies at Wrigley Field. Bryant underwent treatment with the training staff after leaving the game prior to the fourth inning.
Patrick Wisdom replaced Bryant at third base. It's not clear how he suffered the injury, but Bryant slid awkwardly into second base during the first inning.
Selected to the All-Star Game next Tuesday in Denver, Bryant was hitting .268 with 16 home runs and 43 RBIs at the time of his injury.
The Cubs played Wednesday without shortstop Javier Baez, who was scratched from the lineup due to right thumb soreness. Baez has dealt with that ailment since early June. He told Ross that he could be available to pinch hit.
Ross is hopeful Baez could return to the Cubs' lineup Thursday for their series finale against the Phillies.
