(670 The Score) The Cubs will start right-hander Kyle Hendricks against the Marlins in Game 1 of their best-of-three wild-card round series Wednesday afternoon, manager David Ross said Tuesday.
Right-hander Yu Darvish will start Game 2 for Chicago on Thursday.
"I feel like I have two aces," Ross said.
Hendricks was 6-5 with a 2.88 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 12 starts this season. He has a 2.98 ERA in 11 appearances in the playoffs in his career.
Darvish is a National League Cy Young contender after going 8-3 with a 2.01 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 12 starts. He has a 5.81 ERA in six starts in his playoff career, though two came against the Astros back in the 2017 World Series, a season in which Houston was found to have cheated by electronically stealing signs.
